CARL RUSSO/Staff photo. Thomas and Tiffany Bell of Haverhill are happy to get their food truck business ''on the road'' during a ceremony in front of Haverhill City Hall yesterday. Congresswoman Niki Tsongas and State Senator Kathleen O'Connor Ives along with Community Teamwork Inc. and the Merrimack Valley Small Business Center announced a total of $200,000 in loan funds from the Small Business Administration that will be available to support small businesses throughout the Merrimack Valley, including a new food truck operated by Thomas and Tiffany Bell of Haverhill. They received a "micro loan" that helped them get their truck on the road after being denied two conventional loans. A ribbon cutting for their new "Food Train" food truck was held on Friday in front of Haverhill City Hall.
The Bells plan to station their truck at Swasey Field on Saturday for its inaugural run. The truck will be operating from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
City officials said The Food Train is the first food truck of its type in Haverhill. 6/27/2014.
