Annual Larry Fournier Memorial Youth Hockey Tournament paid special tribute this year to Matt McCarthy, Pentucket High School hockey captain who died suddenly at the beginning of the 2009-10 hockey season. The Fournier Tournment, named after Larry Fournier, one of Amesbury High School's all time great athletes (1968-1972), attracted 64 teams that includes close to 1000 young players this year. Since the beginning, the tournament has raised $112,000 for scholarships to deserving high school graduates from Amesbury, Newburyport and Triton high schools.
