A town-hired crew works to rebuild the bank of Rogers Brook behind Doherty Middle School on March 12. Recent rains had caused the normally tranquil waterway to swell and flood a baseball diamond, washing away the third base line. The baseball diamond, Doherty's northernmost field past the track behind the school, was not in use by youth sports teams when the flooding occurred. Repair began after the Conservation Commission issued an emergency certification to disturb the wetland on March 9.
