CARL RUSSO/Staff photo. Lois Alves, a volunteer, works with a variety of flowers. A flower arranging workshop was held by the Power of Flowers Project and sponsored by Quota International of Andover. The event, held at the Andover Memorial Library, allowed each participant to make a small flower arrangement to take home. Since its beginning in 2009, The Power of Flowers Project has grown to include over 100 volunteers donating thousands of hours each year and created and delivered 78,000 bouquet of flowers to facilities serving the ill, the elderly, veterans, and others in need of a lift. Power of Flowers is a volunteer run non profit that "spreads joy by recycling gently used flowers from events." 4/19/2018
