Van Nostrand, a 37-year faculty member, career counselor, mentor, and coach who passed away in January. His wife, Sue and their children, Mike and Katie were introduced as speeches were made remembering coach Van Nostrand. After a moment of silence, his son and daughter, Mike and Katie threw out the ceremonial ''first pitch'' simultaneously to Pinkerton catchers, Andrew Curran and Matt Marchman to end the ceremony. Pinkerton defeated Alvirne 8-7 in baseball action. 4/20/2012.
