Mary Lemerise has been named Employee of the Year for 2009 at Merrimack Valley Hospital. Lemerise, who began working at the hospital 37 years ago when it was on Buttonwoods Avenue, was chosen from a field 12 Employees of the Month for 2009. She received $100, a voucher for a day off from work, and a bouquet of flowers. “Mary Lemerise is a long-tenured employee of Merrimack Valley Hospital, who has been employed in many different positions. She has always performed each job with effort and skill along with a smile and caring attitude. Mary is very deserving of being Merrimack Valley Hospital’s Employee of the Year,” said Merrimack Valley Hospital CEO Michael Collins. When asked why she stayed employed at the hospital for so many years, Lemerise said the location is close to home and convenient, and she loves her work environment. “No matter what department I have worked in, I have always worked with good people. It’s a good place,” said Lemerise who began her hospital career in the Medical Records Department, then worked in Education, Occupational Health, Administration and Physical Therapy. Lemerise was nominated for Employee of the Month by Sue Ouellet, manager of the Physical Therapy Department. “Mary is a person who always takes that extra step, gives a 110 percent and is a pleasure to work with every day,” said Ouellet. Employees of the Month for 2009 included Lemerise, Ben Dewhurst, Dan Takesian, Jan Makosky, Adolpho Vega, Maggie Anzalota, Laura Martin, Sue McGill, Roberto Guzman, Maria Florentino, Cindy Dennis and Beth Dymek. 3/5/2010.
